HE Undergraduates in nanotechnology (EQF 8):

HE-LP8Nanotechnology in detection, diagnosis and treatment of SARS-CoV-2
SummaryThis training unit provides information about nanomaterials as excellent candidates against CoVs infections because of their particular features that allow instant, precise, and quick detection of contagious agents and their accurate and rapid treatment. The advances of nanotechnology in offering precise, sensitive, and fast diagnostic tools to detect infection at an early stage of its development are described. The training unit deals with the offers of modern nanotechnology comprising a variety of high-tech solutions for the prevention of infection, diagnostics, post-exposure prophylaxis, as well as effective treatments in cases when SARS-CoV-2-related disease has already developed. Information is presented concerning the novel nanotechnology-based biosensors, diagnostic devices, antiviral drugs, and vaccines that have been developed or repurposed to combat the modern pandemic.
